Malaysia's IPI up 3.1 pct on year

KUALA LUMPUR, May 10 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia's Industrial Production Index (IPI) rose 3.1 percent year-on-year in March, driven by manufacturing and electricity sectors, government data showed Thursday.

The country's statistics department said in a statement Thursday, the increase was supported by the growth in manufacturing index and electricity index, which grew 4.1 percent and 4.4 percent respectively.

Meanwhile, the mining index recorded zero growth. Enditem
