JAKARTA, May 10 (Xinhua) -- Most terrorist inmates surrendered to the police on Thursday after an exchange of fire between the two sides in a jail following a riot, a senior police officer said.

Deputy Police Chief Commissioner General Syafruddin said the explosions heard were part of efforts to stabilize the situation.

He revealed that a total of 156 terrorist inmates allegedly got involved in the clash, most of whom have surrendered. Enditem
