Singapore stocks close 0.15 pct higher

SINGAPORE, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) wend up 0.15 percent or 5.37 points to close at 3,548.54.

A total of 1.69 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.28 billion Singapore dollars (about 965.11 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 215 to 205.

The STI index closed up 0.29 percent or 10.31 points to close at 3543.17 Tuesday. Enditem
