ACCRA, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Tuesday suspended four high court judges, on the advice of the Judicial Council, a presidency release said.

They are Justice Uuter Paul Dery, Justice Mustapha Logoh, Justice Gilbert Ayisi Addo and Justice Charles Quist. The decision takes immediate effect.

The suspension follows the establishment of a prima facie case against the four Justices, by the Committee set up by the Chief Justice to investigate alleged acts of bribery and corruption against certain persons, including the four Justices, as contained in the Aug 29, 2015 petition of ace journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, said the release.

The judges were accused of taking bribes to set accused people free and rule in favor of those who paid bribes. Enditem
