Sirens sound in Golan Heights: Israeli army

JERUSALEM, May 10 (Xinhua) -- The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said Wednesday overnight that several sirens sounded in the area of the the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights.

The details are being looked into and will be given shortly, said the Israeli army in a statement issued.

The IDF Home Front Command instructed residents to enter and remain in bomb shelters, Israeli media reported.

Syrian state media reported late Wednesday night that Israeli artillery fire targeted a military post near the city of Baath in the Quneitra border region, where Syrian regime forces were stationed.
