WASHINGTON -- U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is bringing three released U.S. citizens back from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), U.S. President Donald Trump tweeted Wednesday.

"I am pleased to inform you that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is in the air and on his way back from North Korea with the 3 wonderful gentlemen," Trump tweeted.

Saying that the three "seem to be in good health," Trump added they would land at Andrews Air Force Base at 2:00 A.M. (US-DPRK-Detainees)

TEHRAN -- Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Wednesday that U.S. President Donald Trump's anti-Iran remarks, upon announcement of his withdrawal for the nuclear deal on Tuesday, were "silly and absurd."

"He (Trump) threatened both the (Islamic) establishment and the Iranians. I announce on the behalf of the Iranian nation that 'Mr. Trump, you cannot do anything,'" Khamenei said, according to his official website.

Khamenei also lashed out at the U.S. enmity with Iran, saying it "has no end." (Iran-Khamenei-US-Nuke)

KABUL -- Anti-government militants launched complex offensives on two police stations in Afghanistan's capital Kabul on Wednesday and so far seven people were confirmed dead and 17 injured, while clashes continue between militants and security forces in downtown Kabul.

According to police spokesman Hashmat Stanikzai, two militants equipped with arms and suicide vests targeted a police station in Police District 13 in Dashti Barchi locality at 11:30 a.m. local time. After hours of fighting, six people including two police personnel and two attackers were killed and nine others including two police personnel sustained injuries. (Afghanistan-Attack)

JAKARTA -- Militants killed five members of an anti-terror squad and is taking another hostage in a prison riot in the outskirts of the capital Jakarta, police said on Wednesday.

One terrorist was also killed in the incident that broke out since Tuesday night, national police spokesman Brigadier Gen. Muhammad Iqbal said.

The spokesman said the militants seized all weapons owned by the five police personnel whom they killed. (Indonesia-Prison)

ISLAMABAD -- An earthquake of 6.4- magnitude jolted parts of Pakistan on Wednesday afternoon, the country's National Seismic Monitoring Center said.
