BEIJING, May 9 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale jolted 97km S of Shemya Island, Alaska at 15:00:16 GMT on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 77.0 km, was initially determined to be at 51.851 degrees north latitude and 174.162 degrees east longitude. Enditem
