NEW DELHI, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Earthquake tremors were felt Wednesday across Indian capital city New Delhi and Indian-controlled Kashmir, officials said.

In Srinagar city and other major towns, the tremors forced people to rush out of buildings and houses.

Reports said the tremors were felt in New Delhi also.

So far there were no reports of damage due to earthquake either in Indian-controlled Kashmir or New Delhi.

Initial reports suggested the epicenter of earthquake was in Afghanistan. Enditem
