KABUL -- Several people were killed and some others injured in two successive terror attacks in Afghanistan's capital of Kabul on Wednesday, witnesses and sources said.

The first attack occurred around 11:30 a.m. local time after several gunmen and suicide bombers struck a police station in Dashti Barchi locality, Police District 13, in western Kabul, according to Interior Ministry spokesman Najib Danish. (Afghanistan-Attack)

JAKARTA -- Five policemen and one terrorist prisoner were killed in a riot on Wednesday at a jail on the outskirt of Indonesia's capital, police spokesman Brigadier General M. Iqbal said.

TOKYO -- The Japanese government on Wednesday said it was concerned about the potential ramifications following the United States' decision to withdraw from the international deal on Iran's nuclear program.

"It would be regrettable if the U.S. pullout has a major impact to the extent of making it difficult to maintain the Iran nuclear agreement," Foreign Minister Taro Kono was quoted as saying in a statement on the matter. (Japan-Iran's Nuclear)

KUALA LUMPUR -- Malaysian voters Wednesday morning went to the polls for the country's general election, with the ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition meeting a fierce challenge brought by the opposition alliance -- Pakatan Harapan, or the Alliance of Hope.
