German shares close flat Tuesday

FRANKFURT, May 8 (Xinhua) -- German stocks closed flat on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index down 35.93 points, or 0.28 percent, to close at 12,912.21 points.

Deutsche Post lost 6.63 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by energy group RWE and marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities Deutsche Boerse group, which lost 1.91 percent and 1.84 percent respectively.

German personal-care company Beiersdorf gained 2.98 percent, becoming the top gainer. European health care company Fresenius SE advanced 1.94 percent. Chemical and consumer goods company Henkel went up by 1.04 percent.

Deutsche Post was the most traded share with a turnover of 396.78 million euros (470.97 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
