CBOT soybeans rally as U.S.- China trade talks to resume

Xinhua,May 09, 2018 Adjust font size:

CHICAGO, May 8 (Xinhua) -- Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) soybeans and grains rallied on Tuesday morning after White House announced to resume trade talks with China next week.

White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders told reporters during a regular news briefing on Monday that the two sides would continue discussions next week in Washington.

CBOT futures, especially soybeans, slid sharply in the previous session as very limited progress was reported at the end of a high-level meeting in Beijing last week. The news of next round talks obviously boosted the soybeans, a key agricultural product the United States exports to China.

As of 1459 GMT, July soybeans were up 9.5 cents at 10.21 dollars per bushel while July corn was up 1.4 cents at 4.0225 U.S. dollars and July wheat was up 6.25 cents at 5.1775 dollars per bushel. Enditem
