YANGON -- Myanmar will hold parliamentary by-election to fill vacant seats on Nov. 3 this year, said a release of the Union Election Commission late Tuesday.
Of a total of 13 vacant parliamentary seats, four are with the House of Representative (Lower House), one with the House of Nationalities (Upper House) and eight with the state parliaments. (Myanmar-By-Election)

KUALA LUMPUR -- Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak and former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad found no time to rest on their final day of campaigning before the general election, both making live speeches on Tuesday night to appeal to Malaysian voters for support in a last-minute show-down.
Najib, who is leading the ruling coalition Barisan Nasional (BN) to seek a third term, was speaking from Pekan in the eastern Pahang state, where he has held the parliamentary seat since 1976, while Mahathir was making the speech in Langkawi, a constituency he helped transform from a backwater island to an international tourist spot. ISLAMABAD -- China's e-commerce giant Alibaba Group acquired the entire share capital of Pakistan's top and South Asia's largest e-commerce platform Daraz Group, a statement said Tuesday.
According to the statement released by Daraz Group, the purchase, for an undisclosed sum, will make Daraz a wholly owned component of Alibaba, operator of the popular Taobao and Tmall platforms. (Pakistan-E-Commerce)

HONG KONG -- China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government Tuesday announced that it will launch the Technology Talent Admission Scheme (TechTAS) to meet the demand for talent in the innovation and technology sector.
