KINSHASA -- Two cases of the Ebola virus disease have been confirmed by a lab report in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), according to a source from the Ministry of Health on Tuesday.
The two cases were confirmed by the laboratory of the National Institute of Biomedical Research in Equateur Province, northwestern DRC, said the source. (DRC-Ebola)

TRIPOLI -- A suicide bomber attacked a military checkpoint east of Libya's northern city of Sirte on Tuesday, killing two soldiers of Libya's eastern-based army.

MAIMANA -- Up to 70 people including 30 militants have been killed elsewhere in the northern Faryab province over the past 24 hours as Taliban outfit has stepped up operations, officials said Tuesday.
A total of 30 militants including a Taliban senior commander Mullah Shakir was killed in Sarhuz area of Pashtun Kot district since Monday, an army spokesman in the northern region Mohammad Hanif Rezai said. (Afghanistan-Battle)

NEW DELHI -- Two people were charred to death and one suffered critical burn injuries on Tuesday after an ambulance caught fire in Indian capital city New Delhi, police said.
The ambulance caught fire in Sheikh Sarai area of the city.
"Two persons were charred to death while in sleep inside an ambulance here," a police official said. "The duo was sleeping at the back seat of the ambulance. The third person who was sitting on the front seat of the vehicle suffered critical burn injuries." (India-Ambulance Fire-Toll)

KABUL -- At least 20 armed insurgents had been killed and 15 others injured since military operations were launched in Paktika province, east of Afghanistan on Monday, defense ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
