MOSCOW -- A Russian Ka-52 attack helicopter has crashed in eastern Syria, killing both pilots on board, the Russian Defense Ministry said Monday.

The helicopter crashed during a scheduled flight over Syria's eastern regions, the ministry was quoted as saying in a statement by Sputnik news agency. (Russia-Helicopter-Crash)

BERLIN -- At least two people were killed and several others injured as two trains collided with each other Monday night in southern Germany, according to local media.

At the station in Aichach in Bavaria, a freight train and a passenger train collided with each other, the local Focus Online quoted a police spokesman as saying. (Germany-Train-Collision)

MOSCOW -- Vladimir Putin took oath of office on Monday to start his fourth term as Russian president.

ABUJA -- The death toll of an attack in Nigeria's central north state of Kaduna has increased to 58 as more bodies were recovered on Monday, a local tribal chief said.

Zubairu Mai Gwari, the traditional leader of the Gwaska village which was attacked over the weekend by unknown gunmen, told reporters the death toll rose from 45 to 58 as local security operatives dug out bodies of some victims in the area. (Nigeria-Attack) Enditem
