RIYADH, May 7 (Xinhua) -- A China-themed photography exhibition was unveiled on Monday evening in the Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh, the first such show in the Gulf country in recent years.

The show, dubbed "Depth-The World Behind the Lenses," displayed photos taken by Saudi photographer Khaled Al-Sudairi during his trip to China last year.

The works included the bell tower and the terra-cotta warriors in China's northwestern city of Xi'an, the snowing cityscape of China's northernmost town of Mohe, and the Suzhou River in the financial hub of Shanghai.

The event reflects the comprehensive development of the Chinese-Saudi ties, particularly in the cultural field, said Li Huaxin, Chinese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, who attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

The photos introduce to the world the various natural and cultural landscapes in China, providing local residents with access to the rich and complex essence of Chinese traditional culture, said Saud Al-Sarhan, Secretary-General of the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, who was also present at the ceremony.

Sudairi, photographer of the show, said he is so impressed by the beautiful nature of China that he would visit China again to bring back more photos to Saudi people. Enditem
