(Special for CAFS) S. African police arrest two more people for stadium violence

JOHANNESBURG, May 7 (Xinhua) -- The South African police on Monday confirmed that two more people had been arrested for stadium violence which took place at Durban's Moses Mabhida stadium on April 21.

Kaizer Chiefs supporters ran into the pitch when their team was beaten in the Nedbank Semi final cup. The fans destroyed the stadium, cars and broadcast equipment among others.

"A further two arrests have been made today with regards to the violence at the Moses Mabhida stadium. Both the suspects will be appearing in the Durban Magistrates Court tomorrow (Tuesday) on charges of public violence," said the police in a statement.

The other three were arrested and granted bail awaiting their next court appearances.

The police task team was put in place after the incident to track those who took part in the violence. Some of the suspect's faces were published in the local media on Monday so that they could be identified and arrested.

Those suspects on bail have been barred by the courts from attending any sporting events as part of the bail conditions. Enditem
