French shares gain 0.28 pct on Monday

PARIS, May 7 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Monday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.28 percent, or 15.37 points, to close at 5,531.42 points.

A total of 25 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.

French-Italian multinational electronics and semiconductor manufacturer Stmicroelectronics advanced 3.51 percent. Technipfmc, a UK-based company that provides complete project life cycle services, gained 2.18 percent. French transnational company in water and waste management Veolia Environment rose 2.01 percent.

French multinational luxury company Kering edged down 1.14 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French tyre manufacturer Michelin (CGDE) went down by 0.98 percent, French banking company Societe Generale lost 0.73 percent. Enditem
