German shares gain 1.00 pct Monday

FRANKFURT, May 7 (Xinhua) -- German stocks rose on Monday, with the benchmark DAX index up 128.54 points, or 1.00 percent, to close at 12,948.14 points.

Multinational chemical firm Linde won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 4.91 percent. Semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies and material manufacturer Covestro rose by 3.44 percent and 1.90 percent respectively.

Chemical group BASF lost the most among the blue chips, falling 1.08 percent. Multinational building materials company HeidelbergCement and automotive manufacturer BMW were down by 0.67 percent and 0.61 percent respectively.

BASF was the most-traded share, with a turnover of 300.39 million euros (357.52 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
