South Korea's Jun wins gold at men's Modern Pentathlon World Cup in Hungary

KECSKEMET, Hungary, May 6 (Xinhua) -- Jun Woong-tae of South Korea won the men's individual gold medal at the 2018 UIPM Pentathlon World Cup in Kecskemet, in central Hungary on Sunday.

Jun finished first in fencing, third in swimming and ninth in the riding event. He also finished 16th in the final laser-run event. He scored a total of 1,437 points to secure the gold.

The silver medal was given to Ilya Palazkov of Belarus, who scored 1,426 points, while the Hungarian Bence Demeter won the bronze medal with 1423 points.

Chinese athletes Zhang Linbin finished in 22nd place with a score of 1376 points and Li Shuhuan finished 33rd with a score of 1328 points. Enditem
