BEIJING, May 6 (Xinhua) -- A 5.3-magnitude earthquake hit Chengduo County, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in northwest China's Qinghai Province at 5: 23 p.m. Beijing Time on Sunday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).

The epicenter was initially monitored at 34.56 degrees north latitude and 96.53 degrees east longitude.

The quake struck at a depth of about 9 km. Enditem
