KANDAHAR, Afghanistan -- Two police personnel and three assailants were killed after Taliban stormed a police station in southern Afghanistan's Spin Boldak district in Kandahar province on Saturday, local police said.

"One suicide bomber struck the police station's front gate with a motorcycle bomb at late night. Two armed attackers stormed the building shortly after the blast and clashed with policemen guarding the facility," a district police officer who declined to be named told Xinhua. (Afghanistan-Blast)

RIO DE JANEIRO -- At least nine people were killed early Saturday in Brazil's southern Parana state following a head-on collision between a tour bus and a car, highway police said.

The accident occurred around dawn when the car reportedly tried to pass a vehicle at a point in the road where passing was prohibited, and collided into the oncoming bus. (Brazil-Accident)

GAZA -- Six militants of Islamic Hamas movement armed wing killed and three injured Saturday evening in an explosion in a house in the town of Zawayda in central Gaza Strip.

Ashraf al-Qedra, the Gaza health ministry spokesman told reporters that six were killed and three wounded, adding that doctors managed to identity the six dead people as Taher Shahin, Wesam Abu Mahroog, Musa Salman, Mahmoud al-Ustz, Mahmoud Tawashi and Mahmud Qishawi. (Gaza-Hamas-Explosion)

ISLAMABAD -- At least 18 people were killed, 13 injured and about a dozen went missing as two coal mines collapsed in different areas of Pakistan's southwest province of Balochistan on Saturday, local media reported.
