LONDON, May 5 (Xinhua) -- Former Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson has suffered a brain haemorrhage and had an emergency surgery on Saturday.
A United statement said the surgery had gone "very well" but he needs "a period of intensive care to optimise his recovery", the BBC reported.
Ferguson, 76, who retired in 2013 after leading Manchester United to 38 trophies during 26 years in charge, presented Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger with a commemorative trophy before the United's 2-1 victory over the Gunners last Sunday.
The Sky news quoted a source saying Ferguson was in a "serious condition" in a Manchester hospital. Enditem
