Kenya's Olympic champ Kipchoge focusing on a marathon in September or October

NAIROBI, May 5 (Xinhua) -- Kenya's Olympic and London Marathon champion Eliud Kipchoge has clarified he will be running in a marathon in September or October this year.

His agent, Valentijn Trouw confirmed on Saturday that the 33-year-old has not made up his mind over which race to compete in with Berlin, Chicago or New York being possible destinations.

However, Kipchoge has warned his fans not to focus so much on the world record but to allow him to enjoy his running and hopefully, a fast time will fall into place.

The London Marathon champion said he never lets his mind dwell so much on breaking the world record because he believes with good preparations and all other factors remaining favorable, running the fastest time will easily fall in place to crown his victories in any major city marathon.

"In London I was not going for the world record. It is still in my mind, but there are other things to look at like enjoying your running, inspiring and supporting others. This obsession with world breaking time is not good," he warned. Enditem
