Four-game European ban for Atletico coach Simeone

MADRID, May 5 (Xinhua) -- Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone will have to watch the final of the Europa League from the stands when his side take on Olympique Marseilles in Lyon after being given a four-game suspension by UEFA for his sending off in the first leg of his side's semi-final triumph over Arsenal.
Simeone was sent to the stands in the first half for his protests over the sending off of Atletico defender Sime Vrsaljko for two yellow cards in the first minute of the 1-1 draw between Arsenal and Atletico in Arsenal's Emirates Stadium.
The Argentinean watched his side's 1-0 win in the return leg from the stands of the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium on Thursday night as a result of that and will now have to miss the next three European games as a result of the ban.
That means he won't be able to direct his side from the touchline in the final and would also miss the final of next season's European Supercup if Atletico are able to beat Olympique, with assistant German Burgos directing the team from the dugout.
Simeone was also fined €10,000 euros for insulting the referee and inappropriate conduct. Enditem
