NAIROBI, May 5 (Xinhua)--The following are the news highlights in Kenyan media outlets on Saturday.

-- Two key allies of Baringo Senator Gideon Moi on Friday moved to explain why Deputy President William Ruto was not allowed to see retired President Daniel Moi on Thursday, further deepening the gulf between two strongly opposed camps in the Rift Valley as 2022 politics takes shape.

Kanu secretary-general Nick Salat and Tiaty MP William Kamket blamed Ruto for the botched visit. Ruto's office on Friday was mum on the charge that they did not book an appointment with Moi before flying to his home. Both Ruto and Senator Moi have declared interest in running for the presidency in 2022. (Saturday Nation)

-- The presidency spent more than double of their traveling expenditure between July and December 2017, the latest report from Controller of Budget shows.
