Polish, German and Dutch police shut down drug laboratories

WARSAW, May 4 (Xinhua) -- Polish, German and Dutch police had cooperated and closed down five laboratories specializing in producing psychotropic drugs, and 14 suspects were arrested, Polish Press Agency reported Friday.

Iwona Jurkiewicz, spokesperson for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBSP) of Poland, said police also seized hundreds of kilograms of drugs and chemicals agents used in the manufacture of drugs.

According to investigators, those substances could be used to produce several tones of drugs.

The investigation found that the organized criminal group specialized in the smuggling of substances necessary in the production of amphetamines or MDMA (commonly known as ecstasy), from Poland to the Netherlands.

The police also secured four firearms, 50 rounds of ammunition, two stolen lorries, as well as eight motorcycles.

During the operations in Poland, the CBSP secured four kilogram from one of the suspects and 17,500 liters of chemical substances used in the production of synthetic narcotics at a laboratory where drugs were made. Enditem
