British stocks up 0.86 pct Friday

LONDON, May 4 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up 64.45 points or 0.86 percent at 7,567.14 points.

Pearson, a multinational publishing and education company, soared 7.66 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. International Consolidated Airlines Group and Reckitt Benckiser Group rose by 5.84 percent and 3.00 percent, respectively.

Evraz, the international mining group, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 1.71 percent. Standard Life Aberdeen, the British asset management firm, dropped 1.47 percent. Berkeley Group Holdings, a property development company, dropped 1.14 percent. Enditem
