German shares gain 1.02 pct Friday

FRANKFURT, May 4 (Xinhua) -- German stocks rose on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index up 129.45 points, or 1.02 percent, to close at 12,819.60 points.

Housing association Vonovia won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 2.73 percent. German airlines Lufthansa and Deutsche Bank rose by 1.95 percent and 1.58 percent respectively.

Multinational chemical firm Linde lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 2.21 percent. Material manufacturer Covestro down by 1.97 percent. Automotive manufacturer Volkswagen down by 1.73 percent.

Chemical group BASF was the most-traded share with a turnover of 418.32 million euros (500.68 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
