French shares gain 0.26 pct Friday

PARIS, May 4 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Friday with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.26 percent, or 14.39 points, to close at 5,516.05 points.
A total of 27 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.
Steel giant ArcelorMittal advanced 2.82 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. French industrial group Bouygues rose 1.78 percent and Technipfmc, French giant in oil and gas projects, technologies, systems and services, gained 1.66 percent.
French banking giant Societe Generale went down by 5.17 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. BNP Paribas, French banking giant edged down 1.15 percent and European IT services corporation Atos lost 0.45 percent. Enditem
