MOSCOW, May 4 (Xinhua) -- Russia's fifth-generation Su-57 fighter and MiG-31K jet equipped with the newest Kinzhal missile system flew over Moscow Friday as part of the Victory Day parade rehearsal, the Zvezda TV channel reported.

The Kinzhal hypersonic missile system is designed to hit land and sea targets at a range of more than 2,000 km without entering the enemy's air defense zone, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

For the first time, MiG-29SMT fighters, which are a modification of MiG-29 fighter jets, took part in the rehearsal as well as Su-35, MiG-31BM and Su-34 aircraft.

A total of 75 crews of military transport and army aviation will take part in the Victory Day military parade scheduled for May 9, the report said.

Victory Day in Russia commemorates the defeat of Nazi Germany by the Soviet Union in World War II. Enditem
