NAIROBI, May 4 (Xinhua) -- The following are the news highlights in Kenya's major media outlets on Friday.

-- Families displaced by floods that have killed some of their relatives over the past month wish they could benefit sooner from a government spending plan presented in the National Assembly, but the 604 million U.S. dollars for floods control will be released in June.

Those living in marginalized areas would have to wait longer to benefit from the 47-million-dollar Equalization Fund. These are some of the expenditure plans presented to the National Assembly on Thursday for the next financial year, which prop up President Uhuru Kenyatta's Big Four projects with 4.6 billion dollars funding. -- Deputy President William Ruto visited former president Daniel Moi at his home in Kabarak on Thursday, but was unable to see him. Ruto flew unannounced to the home and waited for two hours in vain, with the snub raising speculation in succession politics. (The Standard).
