BEIJING -- Chinese stocks closed higher Thursday led by the liquor-making sector.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index closed 0.64 percent higher to end at 3,100.86. The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.12 percent higher at 10,458.62.

KUALA LUMPUR -- The Malaysian stock market ended lower here on Thursday.
The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (KLCI) was at 1,851.80 down 0.23 points or 0.01 percent, and the Emas was at 12,908.22 down 22.52 points or 0.17 percent.

JAKARTA -- Indonesia shares closed lower by 139.87 points, or 2.33 percent, to a level of 5,872.36 on Thursday.
