NEW DELHI -- At least 45 people were killed as heavy rainfall and storms struck India's northern state of Uttar Pradesh, local media reported on Thursday.

LONDON -- Some 30 people, including children, were injured Wednesday night in an explosion during a Jewish festival bonfire in north London.

FAIZABAD, Afghanistan -- At least three security force members and 18 Taliban militants were killed in separate gunfights in two northern Afghan provinces, authorities said on Thursday.

In Badakhshan province, three security force members and 12 Taliban militants were killed in two clashes in Tashkan and Shahada districts Wednesday night, Ghulam Hazrat Karimi, a press officer of the army's Division 20 Pamir based in the northern region, told Xinhua. (Afghanistan-Gunfights)

SEOUL -- South Korean President Moon Jae-in's approval rating surged following last week's summit with Kim Jong Un, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), a local survey showed Thursday.

TRIPOLI -- The death toll in an attack by Islamic State (IS) suicide bombers on the headquarters of the Libyan Higher Commission of Elections here Wednesday has risen to 15, according to a medical source.
