German shares gain 1.51 pct Wednesday

FRANKFURT, May 2 (Xinhua) -- German stocks rose on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 190.14 points, or 1.51 percent, to close at 12,802.25 points.

German semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 4.77 percent.

Marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities Deutsche Boerse group and automotive manufacturer Volkswagen rose by 3.98 percent and 3.62 percent respectively.

Chemical and consumer goods company Henkel lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 1.61 percent. Personal-care company Beiersdorf down by 0.19 percent.

German insurance and financial services company Allianz was the most-traded share with a turnover of 349.68 million euros (419.61 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
