RIO DE JANEIRO, May 1 (Xinhua) -- Defending champions Gremio moved to the top of their Copa Libertadores group with a 5-0 rout of Cerro Porteno on Tuesday.

Forward Everton struck twice for the hosts while Ramiro, Jael and Cicero were also on the scoresheet at Arena Gremio in the southern Brazilian city of Porto Alegre.

Gremio now lead Group A with eight points from four matches, a point ahead of Paraguay's Cerro Porteno.

In Uruguayan capital Montevideo, hosts Club Nacional beat Brazil's Santos 1-0 thanks to a second-half strike from Leandro Barcia.

In Tuesday's only other match, Peru's Real Garcilaso were held to a goalless draw at home to Argentina's Estudiantes. Enditem
