Chicago agricultural commodities settle mixed

CHICAGO, April 30 (Xinhua) -- Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) grains closed mixed on Monday, with corn futures reaching a nine-month high as wet weather continued to keep producers from planting in parts of the U.S. Midwest.

Soybean futures on investors' technical selling. Wheat futures rallied as dry conditions stressed winter wheat in the southern Plains and cold weather stalled seeding of the northern Plains spring wheat crop.

The most active corn contract for July delivery went up 2.25 cents, or 0.56 percent to close at 4.0075 dollars per bushel. July wheat delivery added 12 cents, or 2.41 percent to close at 5.105 dollars per bushel. July soybean delivery fell 7.75 cents, or 0.73 percent to close at 10.485 dollars per bushel.

CBOT brokers estimate that funds on Monday have bought 3,900 contracts of wheat, 7,200 contracts of corn, and 2,800 contracts of soybeans.

Weekly export inspections for the week ending April 26 released by U.S. Department of Agriculture shows private traders has exported 57.7 million bushels of of corn, 25.0 million bushels of of soybeans, and 13.8 million bushels of of wheat. Enditem
