BANGKOK, April 30 (Xinhua) -- At least 19 were injured when a tour bus fell into a roadside ditch and overturned in southern Thailand's Surat Thani on Monday morning, local media reported.

The bus from Bangkok was carrying 36 passengers in the foggy morning, according to local media, saying the bus veered off the high way and plunged into a ditch before hitting a tree.

19 passengers were hurt and hospitalized, local media reported.

The driver, 55, claimed that a 10-wheel truck tried to overtake his bus, leading him to swerved to the left when the accident happened.

One of the passengers was quoted by local media as saying that he noticed the bus was exceeding 100 km per hour in the thick fog.

Police also said the driver has been over-speeding for twice. The case is under investigation. Enditem
