Brunei to conduct jungle warfare training with visiting British warship

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, April 29 (Xinhua) -- The Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) will conduct jungle warfare training with crews of Britain Royal Navy's assault ship HMS Albion, which is currently on a four-day visit to the sultanate.

According to local daily the Borneo Bulletin on Sunday, during their stay in Brunei, the HMS Albion and the Royal Marines crews onboard will be training alongside their military counterparts from the RBAF. For many of HMS Albion's Royal Marine commandos, this will be their first taste of jungle warfare training.

The HMS Albion is the largest ship in the Royal Navy and currently the force's flagship. The deployment of HMS Albion this year, together with the Royal Navy frigates HMS Sutherland and HMS Argyll, will involve a mix of bilateral and multilateral exercises as well as training with regional partners and allies.

HMS Albion is the first of the Royal Navy's two Albion-class amphibious assault ships. Their role is to deliver Royal Marines ashore by air and by sea, with landing craft from her internal dock and helicopters from her two-spot flight deck. Enditem
