2 killed, 20 injured as two buses collide near Indian capital

NEW DELHI, April 29 (Xinhua) -- At least two persons were killed and more than 20 others injured in a collision between two buses near the Indian capital Sunday, police said.
The accident occurred in Noida city in Uttar Pradesh state, barely 25 kms from Delhi.
"The two buses, carrying nearly 50 people, including drivers and conductors, crashed into each other at a busy junction in Noida this morning," a police official said.
A driver and a passenger were killed in the impact of the crash, and 20 others sustained injuries, he added.
"The injured have been admitted to Noida District Hospital and other private hospitals, where the condition of five are said to be serious," the official said.
A probe has been ordered into the incident, he added.
India has the highest number of road fatalities in the world. Road accidents occur mostly due to poor driving or badly maintained roads and vehicles. Enditem
