India welcomes inter-Korean summit

NEW DELHI, April 28 (Xinhua) -- India on Saturday welcomed the inter-Korean summit held Friday, saying it would pave the way for peace and reconciliation.
"We hope that such engagement will help in reducing tensions and pave the way for lasting peace and reconciliation in the Korean Peninsula," said an official statement issued by the country's external affairs ministry.
"India supports all efforts to bring about peace and stability in the Korean Peninsula through dialogue and diplomacy," said the statement. Enditem
