Xinhua,April 28, 2018 Adjust font size:

ST. PETERSBURG, April 27 (Xinhua) -- Russia needs flexible legislation for developing high technologies in all areas, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday.

He made the remarks at a meeting with members of the Federal Assembly's Council of Legislators in St. Petersburg.

The main topics for discussion at the meeting were measures to implement the president's message to the Federal Assembly, legislative support for quality control of medical care and development of the digital economy in the regions.

Putin said it is necessary to expand the space of freedom for entrepreneurship, scientific and creative research, and innovation.

He also stressed that improving the legislation will open new opportunities for both the domestic business and foreign investors.

On March 1, the Russian president addressed the Federal Assembly with a message. He said that the coming years would be decisive for the future of the country, and Russia needed to make a leap in improving the quality of life, modernizing the economy, infrastructure and public administration.
