British stocks up 1.09 pct Friday

LONDON, April 27 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up 80.78 points or 1.09 percent, to close at 7,502.21 points.

DCC, the business support services company, soared 3.70 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Rentokil Initial and Burberry Group rose by 3.20 percent and 3.05 percent, respectively.

Royal Bank of Scotland Group, a major British bank, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 1.47 percent.

Next, the British clothing and home products retailer, dropped 0.65 percent. Vodafone Group, a British multinational telecommunications company, dropped 0.59 percent. Enditem
