China, Azerbaijan to strengthen military cooperation

BEIJING, April 27 (Xinhua) -- Xu Qiliang, vice chairman of China's Central Military Commission, and Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov agreed to strengthen bilateral military cooperation during their meeting in Beijing on Friday.

Xu said China is willing to join hands with Azerbaijan to consolidate their friendship and strengthen cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Xu, who spoke highly of the military friendship between China and Azerbaijan, also said the militaries of the two countries should push forward further exchanges and cooperation, to contribute to the in-depth development of the bilateral relationship.

Hasanov said Azerbaijan is willing to coordinate strategies with China and play a greater role under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Chinese State Councilor and Minister of National Defense Wei Fenghe also met with Hasanov to discuss military cooperation on Friday. Enditem
