GOYANG, South Korea -- South Korean President Moon Jae-in and Kim Jong Un, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), confirmed a common goal of complete denuclearization and agreed to push for multilateral talks to turn the current armistice agreement into a peace treaty after their first summit meeting in Panmunjom Friday.

Moon and Kim held a signing ceremony for their joint declaration, the Panmunjom Declaration for Peace, Prosperity and Unification of the Korean Peninsula, at Peace House on the South Korean side of Panmunjom, the border village dividing the rival Koreas since the end of the 1950-53 Korean War. HANOVER, Germany -- China has topped the number of foreign visitors and exhibitors in this year's Hannover Messe, a world-leading industry fair in Germany, said its organizer Friday here at the closing ceremony.

Over 33 percent of some 210,000 visitors came from outside Germany. Among them, China took the lead with 6,500, followed by the Netherlands, Poland and the United States. (Germany-Hanover-Fair)

RIYADH -- Saudi air defense intercepted on Friday a ballistic missile shot towards border city Najran, Al Arabiya local news reported.

YAGUARAMAS, Cuba -- China delivered two solar panel parks to Cuba on Thursday, as part of bilateral cooperation in renewable energies.
