LUSAKA, April 27 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in Zambia's major media outlets on Friday.
-- The Zambian government plans to re-model the implementation framework for World Bank-funded projects by creating separate implementation units to provide leadership in the execution of development programs.
Minister of National Development Planning Alexander Chiteme said Zambia's absorption of donor-funded projects, particularly World Bank's, was lower than expected. (Zambia Daily Mail)
-- A Taskforce established to tackle an outbreak of foot and mouth disease in central Zambia is targeting to vaccinate more than 30,000 cattle in order to contain the outbreak.
Taskforce Chairperson Martin Chowa said the exercise started on Tuesday this week and that all the animals in the affected districts of Chisamba and Chibombo will be vaccinated. (Times of Zambia)
