Tokyo stocks close higher on Wall Street's lead, inter-Korean summit hopes

TOKYO, April 27 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed higher Friday, tracking gains on Wall Street overnight and on hopes the inter-Korean summit would lead to further productive talks.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 148.26 points, or 0.66 percent, from Thursday to close the day at 22,467.87, marking its highest closing level since Feb. 5.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 5.10 points, or 0.29 percent, to finish at 1,777.23.

Real estate, information and communication, and land transportation-oriented issues comprised those that gained the most by the close of play. Enditem
