JALALABAD, Afghanistan, April 27 (Xinhua) -- At least six Taliban militants were killed after Afghan Special Operations Forces waged a raid in eastern province of Nangarhar overnight, the provincial government said in a statement on Friday.

"The operation was launched in Adwar locality, Khogyani district. A Taliban bomb-making expert named Zarin was among the killed. One militant was injured and two others were arrested by the security force," the statement added.

No security force member was hurt and a AK-47 gun, five gun's magazines, a telecommunication radio, together with ammunition and explosives, were found, the statement added.

The Afghan security forces, alongside the U.S. and NATO-led coalition troops, have increased ground and air offensives against the militants in the last few months as the militants frequently attack government interests across the country.

The Taliban militant group has yet to make comments. Enditem
