Taliban attack kills deputy governor of eastern Logar province

KABUL, April 26 (Xinhua) -- Taliban attack claimed the life of deputy governor for eastern Logar province on Thursday, local media reported.

"Taliban militants ambushed the vehicle of Qamarudin Shafi the deputy governor of Logar province today afternoon, killing him on the spot and injuring four others," Tolo television channel reported as breaking news.

Taliban militants who launched their so-called annual spring offensive on Wednesday are yet to make comment on the report. Enditem
