TRIPOLI -- Clashes between an army unit and tribal gunmen in the southern Libyan city of Sabha on Monday killed two people and wounded five others, a medical source said.

TORONTO -- At least nine people were killed and 16 others injured after a van plowed into pedestrians in Toronto's northern suburbs on Monday, police said.

WASHINGTON -- The gunman accused of killing four people at a Waffle House in the southern U.S. state of Tennessee was arrested on Monday following an intensive manhunt, police said.

DAMASCUS -- Syria's President Bashar al-Assad said on Monday that the U.S.-led missile strike on Syria will not succeed in stopping the Syrian war on the terrorist groups in Syria, according to the state news agency SANA.
