KIEV, April 23 (Xinhua) -- The Ukrainian Mint plans to start production of coins for foreign countries, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) said in a statement on Monday.

The Kiev-based mint can annually strike about 1.2 billion circulating coins and nearly 1 million commemorative coins made of precious materials, said a statement on the NBU's website.

Besides, the enterprise has the capabilities to produce about 200,000 orders and medals per year, it said.

Since its establishment in 1998, the Ukrainian Mint has produced more than 10 billion coins and state awards, which were used domestically. Enditem
